Shock value? Well here goes....as I am sure some may not agree with what I am writing about today, or the headline, but the point of this being....?
As I am sitting here eating my lunch and perusing social media feeds I just sit in wonder. Why? Take a guess. First "I DO NOT CARE WHERE ON THE POLITICAL SPECTRUM YOU RESIDE...," that is none of my business; unfortunately, many have made it their point to make others know with use of social media.
YOU, are in business for yourself and must remember that there is a huge "P" for Professional tattooed on your forehead, meaning...............................................................
YOU must stand out in the crowd. Ask yourself this question before you start squabbling on social media about politics, what difference will it make? You know...opinions are just like excuses, and excuses are like a particular part of the body; everybody has one, and they all stink.
When I see "supposed" professionals arguing, not debating, on social media, name calling, and using profanity, I have to shake my head....especially when my 10 and 13 year olds act better than that. I fully understand that there are two polarizing subjects....Religion and Politics, best to stay away because nobody wins. How about focus on the 8 other things that you may have in common?
I believe in the 1st Amendment, as I believe in them all, as my Oath has never expired "...that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic: that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same..." and our rights also have consequences when ill-applied.
Just because you can...does not mean you should. How many of your prospective customer base are you turning off because you decided to post some hot political topic? Or, degrade a person or race? Or, post something negative about particular religions or cultures? Or, argue in CAPS, and use less than professional language?
This is a Free Society and you can do whatever you want, however, YOUR actions have consequences....me, I choose to be happy. I stay aware but I do not dwell, and I also choose to find what we all have in common as humans and learn from each other. Maybe it is my spiritual growth, or just that I am getting older and how I view things...but the World still needs an occasional knifehand to stay in check.....
Carpe Diem....Attitude Reflects Leadership!!!!
