Dear Siri: How Can I Make Money From My Blog?

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Gold DRE #00697006

It would do you about as much good as asking Siri for advice on how to monetize your blog as it would to take up this particular public relation person's pitch. Although, to be honest, there are some agents and other professionals who do monetize their blogs. Yup, they accept paid advertising for their Sacramento real estate blog.

I dunno about you, but I feel advertising diminishes the quality of your work. It says you sold out. But not everybody thinks like I do, and it's how we get commercial television and radio and newspapers.

I received a pitch yesterday to partner with a plumber on my website, of all things. You can read more about it in my personal blog today at this link: One Way to Make Big Money From Blogging.

Good morning, Elizabeth -- a plumbers crack, not one but two toilet paper holders and a solicitation from Tiff ---- I don't know how but the day has to get better than this.

Elizabeth,

Hmm, $40 dollars? One cannot get a plumber to do a house call for that. We have had many offers.  An,we have been offered much more $$$.  People have gotten mad at us for saying no!  They called us stupid, etc...

We have a friend who also writes about luxury, and. Many of these firms send her gifts   She returns them all, and writes a post outing them.

We are on the same page as you! A

I'm not sure I'd ever what to monetize my blog either, but I know $40 wouldn't change my mind.  Maybe something in the four figures would make me consider it.

We might laugh, but I bet there are a lot who would actually grab at this. Remember BPO's for $50?

Hi Elizabeth... I get those guest blogger solicitations regularly... but no one has offered me money... then again, I might not be reading their letters all the way to the end before I hit the delete button!

Michael Jacobs You made me laugh out loud. Of course, it doesn't take much to make me laugh.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel I know, right, who thinks $40 is enough to motivate? It's such an odd amount, too; they could have offfered $39.99.

Chris Ann Cleland They say everybody has a price. But not me. 4 figures would not make me reconsider.

Hella M. Rothwell, Broker/Realtor® I supppose an agent who whipped out 10 BPOs a day could make $15K a month but most do one a week or so. I also suspect they were hoping the lender would hire them to sell an REO now and then, but yes, I think $50 to do a BPO is an insult.

Nina Hollander Just you wait, you will start getting the offers with money. For years, I received guest blogging / linking requests but I've had a few offers for money lately. This was the funniest one.
