It is rare to find a new town formed. But Florida now has a new town. It in not a development but a town.
Babcock Ranch is a New Sustainable Town in Southwest Florida.
About 20 minutes North of Fort Myers surrounded in natural beauty is the world's First Solar-Powered Town.
All the homes built here must conform to the town design of Florida style homes. In addition, all homes must have a Florida Green Building Coalition Certification.
The town offers many amenities that would not be found in most places. The town has been planned around shared natural spaced that run through the town.
Residents and guests are able to canoe, kayak and paddle board. There are playgrounds and a fishing dock.

I was so impressed with the 75 MW Solar farm. This solar farm will provide the power needs for the community.
If you took the solar panels and placed them end to end they would stretch from the Ranch to Chicago.
There are 5 builders that are providing a great selection of styles of homes that should meet most needs.
Single family homes start in the mid $300,000's. There will be Twin villas that will be priced under $200,000.
