Staging FAQ’s-What Exactly Is Home Staging?
Even though I’ve been a Home Stager since 2007, I still meet many who either haven’t heard of it or aren’t quite sure what home staging is.
Actually, home staging should be called something other than this. A better name would be Home Styling or Home Marketing.
Home staging is making sure that the property
appeals to a broad range of the buying demographics.
It allows the buyer to see the property in the very best light and to see the possibilities of the space.
Home staging is a tool that can be used for occupied as well as vacant homes.
Home Staging products:
Consultations-This is basic and can be used for occupied as well as vacant properties.
We will discuss items that need to be addressed to help you sell your home such as…
- choice of paint color
-what items to edit
-suggested updates and repairs
-repositioning of furniture to maximize space
If you have a vacant home, we will address items that may be distracting to a buyer that need to be addressed and can make recommendations if you decided to rent staging pieces.
Hands on Staging:
After a consultation and when you are ready, we can assist with fine tuning items such as furniture placement and where to place accessories.
Most consumers are familiar with this. To help show the liveability of a home or several rooms, we can bring in furnishings that will help a buyer see the room as it could be.
This is especially helpful when there is a room with a unique shape or a room that is hard to define.
Lifestyle changes:
Often our clients will be moving to a new lifestyle and need assistance with what to take, what can go where, and what new pieces to purchase. We can give them a game plan so that they can make new purchases in their own time-frame.
And, sometimes our clients just want to fall back in love with their home again. Or figure out what to do with the forgotten room.
New Home Buyers:
I have worked with buyers when they need advice on what can go where, what will fit, and what they can do down the road. They often do this just before they pull the trigger to purchase the home or after they’ve moved in.
That is what home staging is all about. See, you thought all we did was move furniture around!
