It's that time of year again.  Summer.  And have you heard any of your children say those dreaded words yet, "I'm bored.  There's nothing to do."  Well, here is a list of choices to help clear away that boredom.

Kid's Activities for Summer 2017

Woodlands Children's Museum
Activities abound at the Woodlands Children's Museum for the Summer of 2017. There are daily classes to challenge the minds of 4 to 8 year olds. And special days like Sonny "The Bird Man" Carlin entertaining on Wednesday June 14th or "Chip off the ole' Block on June 17th for dads and kids.

The Woodlands Children's Museum is located at 4775 West Panther Creek Drive #280 The Woodlands TX 77381.

Houston Zoo

Lions and tigers and bears (oh my!) and monkeys and giraffes & elephants & rhinos and so much more. With the exception of occasional private events, you can enjoy the Houston Zoo daily from 9 AM to 7 PM. YOu can bring a cooler to the zoo - outside food & drink are allowed! Just no alcoholic beverages, glass bottles or plastic straws. The Houston Zoo is located at 6200 Hermann Park Dr, Houston TX 77030. Also adjacent to the zoo is the Herman Park Railroad and Pedal Boats. Enjoy a train ride or pedal around in the water - such fun!

Old MacDonald's Farm

With 15 acres of fun - Old MacDonald's Farm in Humble, TX is ready for your children. Experience a petting zoo, pony rides, a train ride and swimming pool.

Children's Museum of Houston

Enjoy Sci-Fi Summer - a playground for your mind! The museum is open 7 days a week. With over 90,000 square feet of interactive exhibits, 14 hands-on galleries are offered for young guests. In addition there is a Tot*Spot specifically designed for toddlers age 35 months and under.

Typhoon Texas
If you're ready for waterpark fun - check out Typhoon Texas in Katy. Located at 555 Katy Fort Bend Rd, Katy TX 77494, they are open daily. Best to check their website for hours, just to be sure. There are areas like Tidal Wave Bay, Monster Storms and Slide Boarding - just to name a few - for action-packed fun. And for those of us who prefer a tamer day of fun - the Lazy T River. Dining choices offer burgers & fries or salads or pizza or bbq or tacos! Plus funnel cakes and shaved ice to round out the menu. Cabanas can be rented to have a central covered location to relax. Lockers are available for rental as well.

Discovery Green
Discovery Green is an amazing park. It was created for the enjoyment of the people of Houston and its visitors and guests. There are so many activities here - it is worth it to check out their website.
You can watch a movie on the Bank of America Screen on the Green. Bring a blanket or chairs to view the movie from the hill. Secret Life of Pets is playing on June 10, with Trolls and Finding Dory coming up in July and August. Cost: FREE!
Another bring your blanket & chairs opportunity is for Thursdays Concerts presented by UHD. They are from 7 PM to 9:30 PM. Upcoming lineup includes Leyla McCalla & the Chubby Knuckle Choir on June 8 - the rest you can see on the website. Zumba, Yoga, Party on the Plaza, there is always something happening at Discovery Green.
