Silver Bullet to Time Management....the EASY Way....

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Real Estate RS282607

Books...Books...and more Books....Google searches, classes...etc....which one is correct and how do you do it?

We sometimes over-do and over-think on some of the smallest details, that we make those small details BIGGER than we need. It really is not that complicated to gain control of our lives, and if you do not plan your life, somebody else will....and more than likely the results give the other person the advantage over you.

Do you have a road-map for your life? Or...are you living life just day by day without purpose? My wife jokes with me sometimes that she has to make an appointment with me....well....I remember she made that appointment for me 17 years yes; UNLESS it is a dire situation or urgent. The same goes for my boys, however, if there is a need that is dire for them, sometimes it is not, my ear is always open.

With that being stated I have made it my quest to keep things very simple in a day that appears to have become so complex. Here is my formula....

Bring up your calendar on your computer, tablet, phone...etc....if you do not use one, do not worry, because you can follow step one for step two...

Start on the month and highlight RED those days of the month that under ZERO circumstances you will not work. I am involved in the Boy Scouts of America, so my camping trip days are highlighted red; as well as Sundays (my chosen family day). Okay...I know what some will say, but I do not do open houses on Sundays...I choose to be an Original and go against the flow....

Now highlight YELLOW those days that are like " Well....I do not want to work, but I will if I have to..." ....and highlight BLUE those days that you are wide open....Now...look at your week and do the same...and break it down to the days and hours....

As I stated about going to step two, use highlighters for your planner, if you do not have them, or maybe if you want to do it on the I have some leftover crayons...,well I do use highlighters...but you get the point...

I hope this information is helpful...please offer your thoughts. Thank you for reading....

Peter- I think the key is you have a plan and you follow it!  And that's where many fail. Every day is so open that nothing can get done.

I like putting as much as I can on the calendar, especially family and other personal time where I will not be working, including exercising. I could be bettrer managing it, though.
