Flat
Pros: These cabinets are great for the modern, contemporary style home. If you are going for a clean, sophisticated look in your kitchen then these are the cabinets for you.
Cons: Although these cabinets are indeed clean and sophisticated, they do not offer any standout detail qualities. They are great if you are going for minimalism, but if you want something more memorable then these will probably not be your first choice.
Distressed
Pros: These cabinets have an old, rustic look about them. They are a great talking point because they stand out in any home because of the detail and different feel they provide the the kitchen. The distressed cabinet is perfect for a rustic, eclectic looking kitchen that is sure to get your guests talking.
Cons: While these can be a great add to any kitchen, the distressed cabinet look is not for everyone. If you like more of a clean, traditional looking space then these cabinets will not be what you are looking for.
Shaker
Pros: To complete a traditional kitchen space, start with shaker cabinets. With a four panel border surrounding a square panel on each cabinet door, this set of cabinets just screams traditional, clean kitchen.
Cons: These cabinets are a great basic for any space and can match with a large number of styles, but you do run the risk of having a set of cabinets very similar to many of your friends. If you are looking for something different then the shaker cabinet may not be your first choice.
Custom
Pros: The pros are of getting custom cabinets are just that, you have custom cabinets. You can style them any way you would like. So this means you can take all the aspects you like about each of the cabinets above and mix them all into your own unique set. How great is that?
Cons: The cons of custom cabinets are expense. To have your own design executed can be timely and costly for the average homeowner. You may also run the risk of designing a dream cabinet that does not turn out the way you want, so be mindful of you design choices.
