Since arriving at our home in Jupiter Beach Florida on Monday it has been daily rain and often in buckets. Besides the cats and dogs coming down I think Mother nature threw in raccoons also. This morning we were not going to be deterred unless their was lightning so we set out for the ocean and were greeted with rain coming. So what the deal with a little water? We had on swimsuits by the ocean so what is a little wetness after all. We had Henri in a papoose with a floppy hat on to cover him and he look just like a Paddington Bear. What we also love in June down here is the love and respect of nature. Besides people who carry bags to get any flotsam and jetsam off the beach, it is also sea turtle mating season. If you are out fishing you may just catch an erotic turtle dance in the water and then the female comes into the beach to deposit the eggs. The sticks you see are marked so that you don't walk over them and no one does. As I look out at the ocean and then walk on a clean beach I wish that everyone would respect the environment and the science behind the despoliation of our planet. Tomorrow we take our bags out for a walk to clean up anything we see that doesn't belong from nature. Life can still be a beach for our children and grandchildren if we act responsibly as well as respecting the science of climate change.
Joe Pryor How nice of you to clean up the beach and protect the enviroment
It looks like a beautiful setting Joe Pryor , wish I was there. As far as the turtles... I think we will always be facinated with them.
Your words remind me of a trip I made to the Carolinas. I was supposed to spend a day in Myrtle Beach, at the beach. Instead it was raining bucket loads. It was near the end of my vacation, and I was exhausted after driving. I went to a little cafe on the main drag, ordered up a bunch of fish and chips, along with an Artois Cider. Went to my hotel room, and slept like a log. I really must get back there one day!
Hi Joe,
You are so right...what s the problem with a little rain? You are in paradise and should enjoy every minute!
Glad to hear some like you and your family care about their environment. We have to try harder and respect nature and slow down climate change for the next generations. Thank you for sharing a more pro active view point.
Joe,
How nice to be at the beach, regardless of the weather, I love the beach in any weather. A
Good morning Joe. This brings back so many fond memories, for as a youngster I love it when it rained on a warm summers day. Nothing like playing in the rain, literally..
Joe it's like Disney did years ago. If it is raining he said - we'll have a rain dance! The park is always a happy place rain or shine!
