Speechless Sunday-Visitor at our Ranch

By
Real Estate Agent with John L Scott Market Center 700512026

It’s such a joy to discover new visitors (or residents) that grace my path while out and about our five acres of land with barns, outbuildings, pastureland and Fishhawk Creek. While out feeding my horse and mule, I started to park my UTV when I saw him poking out of one of the barn doors.

This guy was sunning himself on our gravel driveway and seemed completely at ease with me taking his picture(s).Some people are afraid of snakes, but I find them to be utterly beautiful and elusive and elegant!

The vibrant colors could be a catalyst for many a creation; photography or even textures in fabric. Mother Nature is the muse for many an artist!

Good morning, Gayle -- what great photos --- such great colors and texture(not that I'm going to test that theory up close).

Good morning Gayle,
I am one of those afraid of snakes.  I don't even like to look at pictures of them but you captured some great shots of this colorful creature.

Gayle you are braver than me!  When I run into snakes while out hiking here there is a big chance it could be deadly - thus not taking any chances.     Those are awesome photos of this very colorful and 'safe' guy!

Great photograhy Gayle Rich-Boxman Fishhawk Lake Real Estate . I'd photograph him/her too but my Bride would be running and screeming.

This a beautiful snake and I would not want to be within 20 feet of him. I can handle spiders but not snakes. You are braver than I am.

Roy Kelley yup, those colors really are something!

Hannah Williams you seem to be part of a group here who aren't fond of them!

Michael Jacobs I would love a jacket or a skirt made out of his pattern--really cool!

Carol Williams you braved through it and thank you!

Anna Banana Kruchten, CRSJoe Pryor and Debe Maxwell, CRS  they certainly can put the fear of God in you! However, as a kid, I held a HUGE Black Indigo snake while visiting Ross Allen's Snake Farm in Florida. It was quite the cool event and I got a certificate made out with my name on it! The thing was about 5' long and I held it over my shoulders.

Bob "RealMan" Timm yes, that seems to be a "running" theme. I tell people it is either snakes or spiders that most people choose to be afraid of. Mine are spiders.

Hi Gayle-While I am certainly not a afraid of non poisonous ones I have a healthy respect for poisonous ones. As a kid I used to put grass snakes in my pocket. Don't think I would do that now. He is colorful and very textured. Great capture

I have a grandson who is very fond of snakes.  The one you have pictured is colorful.  I don't think I've seen one quite like it.

Sharon Lee my sister used to pick up bees with her bare hands and also put caterpillars in her pockets. They would come out of the dryer all "airfluffed" is what I would call it.

I was more into collecting things in the woods, building terrariums, and carving chestnuts.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel thanks for checking in and commenting!

Myrl Jeffcoat I've not seen this one before and was fascinated. It was about 2' long. I'm finding that many hang out in our pile of old barnwood, but this guy is different. The sun caught him in a nice light! Thanks for featuring my photos, ALWAYS appreciate that!

I think snakes look cool and I wouldn't be afraid of them if I was certain that they weren't dangerous, haha.  I love your photography!!!

Hi Gayle - Great photos. If I didn't know you had a 1200 mm lens, I'd think you were really brave : ) I like both spiders and snakes, but I'm afraid of vegetables.

Brian England thank you for being so enthusiastic about my photography. I have SUCH a great time. It's my guilty pleasure, spending time editing my scads of photos when I have a spare moment or two.

Dick Greenberg well, guess what? I DID use my macro on my camera in automatic as well as sitting in the UTV and zooming in. He allowed me to get really close!

Yes, he is pretty, Gayle, and you got some interesting shots. Still, I am glad he was sunning on your path and not on mine.
