Reno Real Estate: City Named on Another "America's Best" List

In their July 2017 edition (which comes out on June 20th), Outside Magazine reveals the winners of "America's Best Towns Ever" list.  To no one's surprise who lives in Reno real estate, our city made it onto this year's list.  In fact, we were named the "Best Low-Key Hideout".  Now, it may seem a little odd that a city that bills itself as "The Biggest Little City in the World" might be considered "low-key".  However, when you read on, you'll quickly understand why this makes perfect sense.

Readers of Outside Magazine named Reno real estate as one of

Reno Real Estate - America's Best

Search Reno homes for saleFor the last five years, Outside Magazine left it up to its readers to decide which American towns were the best and why.  Readers based their votes on the regular fare, such as exposure to the arts, recreational activities, food, etc.  However, the magazine figured why stop there?  For example, Portland, ME made the list as the Best Top End Food in Zero Degree Weather.  Santa Fe, NM found themselves on the list as the Best Combination of Mountains and Margaritas.  And Asheville, NC offers the Best Summer Day.

Voters found that Reno real estate provided the Best Low-Key Hideout.  Why?  Readers noted the kayaking available in downtown Reno's Truckee River Whitewater Park as one reason.  Mount Rose resort's 55 degree chutes (a short 25 mile drive from the city) gave readers another reason to vote for Reno.  Finally, year round mountain biking and Whitney Park Hotel's 164 foot tall climbing wall (the tallest in the world) propelled it to the top.  If you need a getaway from the hustle and bustle of a big city, Reno real estate provides the perfect "hideout" from the rest of the world.  But, you will never be lacking in things to keep your mind and body active.

Other Towns to Make Outside Magazine's "America's Best Towns Ever List"

  • Bend, OR
  • Bentonville, AR
  • Birmingham, AL

In addition to what Outside Magazine's readers thought made Reno real estate special, locals can name  few others.  This city has some of the best restaurants and most talented chefs around.  Unlike our California and Arizona neighbors, water is much more accessible.  Hot August Nights, the Great Balloon Race and Street Vibrations make everyone's "must do" list each year.  Traffic here pales in comparison to many other cities that made the magazines "best of" list.  We really do live up to our "Biggest Little City in the World" reputation here.

Reno is up and coming with Tesla, Switch, Google, and many other companies moving in.  We are expecting 69,000 new jobs by 2020 and a deficit of 20,000 homes!  Prices are rising on homes but the economic outlook is fabulous.  All this and no state income tax!!
