Home Staging: the ultimate "GREEN" business

With today's headlines screaming about global warming, over consumption and the impending destruction of our world, most people are becoming ever more conscious about how they consume and what they can do to reduce waste.

As a business owner and resident of this world, I often revisit whether what I do makes a difference.

Trust me, I've given this a lot of thought and have come to the conclusion that Home Staging is the ultimate recycling business.  No offense to builders, there will always be a need and market for new homes.  However, our society has been the "Throw away" society for so long that we are now reaping what we have sown with a glut of inventory and our ecological health teetering on the brink.

As Stagers, we not only help sellers to move on, or get out of financially draining situations, we are giving back to this world by recycling a very large, resource draining product: a house.

By re-packaging a home that might otherwise be unattractive to potential buyers we, offer a wonderful and practical solution: a house that is move-in ready in an often-times mature neighborhood with mature landscaping.  No need to cut down more trees to build a new house.  No need to transport building materials, no need for really anything new.   With Staging, the "old" becomes "new" again!

 Your friend in Staging,

 Jodi

Green staging sounds like a good thought.  Any Green business is the way to go these days.

Jodi, Nicely said! Home stagers are also helping to avoid the "destruction of neighborhoods" by improving the selling odds of an existing home.  Thus, less foreclosures, higher property values, desirable neighborhoods stay desirable.  Thanks for the post!

Great blog Jodi and have to agree with you. We are excellent at recycling, re-using and re-purposing of product. In fact...I'm afraid it's in my blood - ha!

All the best,

Beth

Thanks to the newer affiliation of Eco-Brokers, Stagers who wish to do more " green " work can also team up with a Real Estate professional who is just as passionate about the going green movement.  It's a very exciting thing to see happening!

Cheers!
