No Cussing Please - Yes There Is A No Cussing Club!

Today, I am traveling to Las Vegas with my husband - he is on a business trip and I decided to join as my grade school friend is coming to Las Vegas from Hawaii and I can meet my high school friend who lives in Las Vegas.

As  I look through the SPIRIT magazine provided for the customers on the flight, I get to an article on "No Cussing Club."  What is a No Cussing Club?  I learn from the article that this young student decided that he got sick of kids cussing so he challenged them to stop.  WOW, So, I went on-line to that site to learn more...

Well, here is the story.  A young guy name McKay Hatch got sick of the "dirty mouth" other students had. Basically, he heard cussing from his friends and peers; using dirty words primarily to sound cool, right? According to McKay, they probably had no idea how they sounded or meant.  So, he challenged them to stop.  They were startled as they did not know it bothered McKay.  However, THEY STOPPED.  So, McKay challenged to them the No Cussing Challenge.  Some did not know how to change themselves, hence the club started.

Now there are NCC - the No Cussing Club through many part of the United States now.

McKay, a junior high, 14 year old student in South Pasadena, CA., started this vision in 2007. WOW, what a vision.  We can certainly learn from him.  To change our society to become better, we just need to be determined like him.  I am just taken by him.

Is it not fascinating to know that one member of the community, young or old, can contribute to making the world a better place for everyone?  I like you to check his site out.  Don't you think we can learn a few from this guy McKay?

Endea - I really thought it was cool too. Most of the time, kids are too scare to confront anyone and he was not. Yeah!

I think this is GREAT...so many kids and adults too cuss without even realizing it...it's become the norm.  I find it crud and disgusting...recently we had an insurance salesperson in our home, his conversation was laced with cuss words and I really think he was oblivious to it.  Needless to say we were not impressed with him and did not go with his insurance plan.

Wow.....isn't it great when the young ones stand up for what they believe.

Great post.

Thanks for sharing.

I have to admit I have never heard of this. It would be nice if more kids and some adults would join a club like this.

Mary - I totally understand. There was a clip I saw on Tony Robbins recently and he was using @#$%& and I was stunned. It really does not proved anything, actually the other way around...

My hat is totally off to McKay... Maybe this can become a "Pay It Forward" deal.  I think there is way to much fowl language out there,  and it is NOT necessary.

Dave- Thank you for the comment. I know we adults can use a club too.

Lindsay - Thank you for the comment. We got so used to using these language we forget that it does matter how we speak.

Linda, Yes it is great when young ones are able to speak up.

Valerie, I agree with too many fowl language. I think we got too numb to it.

Konnie, At Keller Wim we get fined for using fowl language, so I don't hear much in this office. It was really bad in my old office.  It does bother you when one uses *&%^ in every sentence they speak.
