I am looking for advice from other vacation home owners who have their vacation properties on the rental program or rent them out themselves.
For several years I paid a flat fee to vrbo to advertise each of my vacation propertes in Destin,Florida.
About 3 years or so ago Expedia purchased HomeAway/VRBO and found a unique way to finance their purchase. Not only did they charge the owner to advertise but also started charging the vacationer to use their service hence (double dipping).
Now other companies such as trip advisor, airbnb, bookings.com, etc have jumped on board to make the extra fees. They try to justify it by saying the vacation owner might be a crook hence they will collect the money and protect the vacationer. That is absolute garbage.
Who do you advertise your vacation rentals with?
