Most real estate professionals feel very "protective" when it comes to our clients with whom we have completed real estate transactions in the past.
We all aspire to the notion of "become our clients for life" because we want your repeat business, even though you might not change homes more than every 10 to 30 years. Yes, we plan to be in business still whenever you are ready to move up, or downsize, or relocate, or wherever life takes you.
Yes, we will even refer another agent if you move out of the area.
But what we really aspire to is for you to refer business to us!
Nothing makes our day better as when we get a call from someone who tells us they were referred to us by you, our loyal "client" who was so happy with how we handled your transaction--whenever that was.
Even though, from a standpoint of a "client relationship" as defined by our real estate laws, our contractual relationship with you ends when the transaction closes.
So for all of us who have "advised" you during the transaction, it is all those extra services beyond what we are required to do to get to the closing table, that makes all the difference in how you rate us.
