Earlier this year, I worked with a buyer to purchase her first home. As expected, she was quite excited. It was great to work with her and see her excitement once closed. A few weeks after closing, I received a call from her asking about an invoice to get copies of her property records. After she sent it to me, I realized it was a scam service. All Records Recovery Services does is make copies of public records and send them to the homeowner. Once I saw the all capital text on the "invoice" I knew it was a scam on inexperienced homeowners.
The Better Business Bureau has an F rating for Records Recovery Services of Portland (as of 06/25/17).
Save your money, don't purchase unneeded information. The info is already available to you via public records and should be in your closing documents. Ask your broker before sending money to vendors for services not requested by you.
