The year is 1950 and there is a home buying mania in Chicagoland . The Chicago Worlds Fair of 1950 had as its main attraction "The Avenue of The American Home ". This exhibit consisted of eight different homes constructed by different architects using different materials. The TV house had walls located in certain positions so the TV could be seen in every room. These homes were prefabricated and cost just $9,000.
