Many real estate agents are frustrated when they first switch from their personal Facebook accounts to a business page. Simply put, it's often easier to get people to interact with a person as opposed to a business. So your challenge, should you choose to accept it (and trust us, you should) is to inspire engagement and spark conversation on your business page in much the same way you would on your personal page.
We've created a free eBook revealing insights on what type of content gets the highest engagement. Get your free copy today!
In addition to these insights, here are 4 of our secrets for increasing engagement on your real estate business page.
1. Shorten your post length
Researchers have found that the ideal Facebook post contains only 40 characters. That may come as a surprise to you but it makes sense once you think about it. The average attention span of a person is somewhere around 12 seconds. You are also competing with other messages on Facebook, so it's really no surprise that short posts help boost engagement.
2. Post questions
This is one of the easiest way to increase your engagement - simply ask questions. They don't have to be deep and meaningful, in fact, often lighthearted questions inspire the most chatter on Facebook. Try sticking to yes or no questions and multiple choice.
3. Be conversational
If you want followers to talk to you, you have to be approachable. One of the easiest ways to accomplish this is by using a conversational tone on your Facebook page. Sure, you need to be professional but you can accomplish this in a less formal way. That's what Facebook is all about. When you're in real estate, your likeability is nearly as important as your skill set.
4. Post 3 times a day
While it may seem like a lot, posting at least 3 times a day is a great way to build familiarity and build up a rapport with your audience.
If all else fails, keep in mind that people trust peers over businesses. Interact in a professional, yet conversational, manner and you are bound to see your overall interaction increase!
