I really wanted to post a picture of me in a round metal barrow bathtub with my long dark curls as a baby, but it doesn't seem to be scanned on my computer so you get a recent shot instead. My sister took that photo with my cellphone when I was in Minneapolis a few weeks ago for my Aunt Dee's funeral.
Today is my 65th birthday. I can't believe I am typing those words. Well, we all have our heroes, heroines, and mine are in their 70s now. When you're a little kid, 65 seems so far away, so unattainable. And then. One day. There it is.
And the thing is it's not even just "my" birthday because millions of other people were also born on June 28th. We are all connected to the human race.
I'm going to my office meeting this morning in Midtown Sacramento, but pretty much ignoring new business today. Just handling existing. Plus, I have to pack for Hawaii. You know what they say about the best laid plans . . .
