Fourth of July celebrations in the Rockies are just around the corner, so here is a quick guide to the most important activities in the area. 

No place celebrates Independence Day better than the beautiful towns across Summit County. Locals and visitors come together to honor the nation’s birthday in true American style. Festivities typically include excellent food, red-white-and-blue parades, running races, concerts, and the sound of fireworks echoing off the mountains. 

Come for the weekend and explore all the on-mountain fun, plus golf, disc golf, hiking, biking trails, and western adventure that awaits July 4th revelers. Here are some the highlights, plus some tips for making the most of it:

BRECKENRIDGE:

Breckenridge is ready to show its patriotic colors with a free holiday extravaganza to entertain the whole family. The celebrations kick off with a 10k trail run, followed by the Firecracker 50 mountain bike race and the exuberant Main Street parade. Fun for the whole family at the Creative Arts’ Street Festival, live music including a performance by the National Repertory Orchestra, and a flamboyant display of fireworks will make this day unforgettable. More activities include Viper Show and Shine, Drum Circle, Kids’ Water Activities, Free Pony Ride, Free Concert by Funkiphino, and the 34^th Annual Art Festival.

FRISCO:

There is something magical about the Fourth of July in Frisco as people come together to celebrate patriotism and the independent spirit of this stunning mountain town overlooking the beautiful bay marina. Start the day right off of Frisco’s charming Main Street with the Team Summit Pancake Breakfast, then attend the Kids Fishing Derby at Frisco’s Meadow Creek Park followed by a free concert with the Summit Concert Band. After that is time for the Fabulous Fourth of July Parade off of Main Street, this year exclusively featuring the United States Air Force Lockheed C-130 Hercules and a 10 piece adult marching band, Gora Gora Orkestra. The highlight of the day, the spectacular fireworks display, will take place over the Dillon Reservoir, which features the best views of the area surrounding the Frisco Bay Marina.

COPPER MOUNTAIN:

Conclude the festivities with a beautiful show of fireworks over West Lake.
