Here's where you can see the Fourth of July fireworks on Long Island.  This is for Nassau County and Suffolk County NY.

We are so blessed to live on this lovely island surrounded by water on both sides.  What better way to enjoy the fireworks this year, regardless of whether you live on Long Island or just came to visit for the week.

 

July 4th fireworks on Long Island - Nassau and Suffolk Counties

2017 Nassau County Firework Displays on Long Island

July 1st, 2017 (Saturday)

  • Eisenhower Park Fireworks.  Concert + fireworks held at Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater.  Gates open at 5:30 and space is limited.  Bring chairs and blankets.  Fireworks are expected to start at 9:30.
  • East Hills Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show  (Rain date:  July 2nd).  It will be held on the Great Lawn.  The fireworks display begins around 9pm.  Earlier in the day, there is also a festival and parade in the park for kids from 10am to noon.  This will include a juggling act and children's comedy show.

 

July 3rd, 2017 (Monday)

  • Massapequa Park Annual Fireworks Display - This will be in Mansfield Memorial Park on Walker Street and Lake Shore Drive.  Fireworks start around 9pm.  The event is free but it's only open to Massapequa residents.

 

July 4th, 2017 (Tuesday)

  • Jones Beach Fourth of July Fireworks - This is generally one of the most attended fireworks display with thousands expected on the water.  It's truly spectacular and if you're in the area, you don't want to miss this.  The show starts at 9:30.  Field 4 is the best place to park, but the show can be seen from anywhere on the beach.
  • Glen Cove July 4th festivities.  This event features music, children's bike parade and of course fireworks.  For more info on the weekend's event check out this article from the Patch.  Fireworks are at 9:15.
  • Valley Stream Annual Fireworks Show (Rain date 7/5).  This will be held at Fireman's Field and parking is at the Hendrickson Pool (w/ free transportation to the show).  The show starts at 6:30 with music and entertaiment.  Fireworks start at sundown (around 9;15).  You'll want to purchase your tickets in advance as the show sells out every year.  Advanced tickets are $8 and can be purchased (cash only) at the Hendrickson Pool, Village Hall or the library.  At the gate, if space is still available, the tickets are $10, but it sells out every year, so I'd advise you to buy them in advance.

 

 

2017 Suffolk County Firework Displays on Long Island

June 28th, 2017 (Wednesday)

  • East Northport - St Anthony's Family Festival (also on July 1st).  Rain date is 6/29  This is at the Trinity Regional School grounds.  You can enjoy the fireworks, gambling, games, rides, food and even a zeppole eating contest.  This event is free.  Fireworks start at dark.  5th Avenue in East Northport.

 

June 29th, 2017 (Thursday)

  • Oakdale Connetquot River Fireworks

 

June 30th, 2017 (Friday)

  • Southampton Grucci Fireworks Delight - Fresh Air Home's 30th annual American Picnic.  This an annual Hamptons tradition.  1030 Meadow Lane and fireworks are over Shinnecock Bay and can be viewed from many spots in the area.  Events include stilt walkers, magicians, games for kids and plenty of food carts with hot dogs and ice cream.  This is actually a fundraiser for the Southampton Fresh Air Home.  This is residential camp with specialized recreational programs of physically challenged children.  The majority of these kids rely on scholarships to attend.  To learn more and purchase tickets, click here.

 

July 1st, 2017 (Saturday)

  • East Northport - St Anthony's Family Festival (also on June 28th) - Rain date is 7/1  This is at the Trinity Regional School grounds.  You can enjoy the fireworks, gambling, games, rides, food and even a zeppole eating contest.  This event is free.  Fireworks start at dark.  5th Avenue in East Northport.
  • Freestyle Explosion Fireworks Show at the Pennysaver Amphitheater.  (Also on 7/4)  The show begins at 5pm and features 16 performers.  Tickets start at $39 and can be purchased on Ticketmaster here.
  • Riverhead Raceway Fireworks.  This is the 67th annual show and will start at 9pm
  • Sag Harbor Magical Fireworks Dazzle - Grab your beach chairs and blankets and make your way over to Long Wharf, Haven's Beach or Marine Harbor in Sag Harbor.  Or, even better if you can view from a boat.  They are all have great views for this spectacular even.  Fireworks are scheduled to start around 9:30pm.
  • North Sea Fireworks and Carnival.  (Also on 7/3)  This is the 72nd annual event put on by the North Sea Fire Department.  Fireworks are scheduled at 10pm (a bit later than most).
  • Central Islip Bethpage Park - Long Island Ducks Post Game Fireworks - Summer 2017 Schedule. Enjoy a game with our local baseball team on their home turf and enjoy the fireworks afterwards as a nice bonus.  For more info on their schedule and to purchase tickets, click here.

 

 

July 2nd, 2017 (Sunday)

  • Central Islip Bethpage Park - Long Island Ducks Post Game Fireworks - Summer 2017 Schedule. Enjoy a game with our local baseball team on their home turf and enjoy the fireworks afterwards as a nice bonus.  For more info on their schedule and to purchase tickets, click here.
  • Westhampton Country Club Fireworks (Rain date 7/3)  The fireworks are scheduled for 9m and will be at the Westhampton Country club on Potunk Lane.  This celebrated event is a big one for the community and people line up the streets to watch.
  • Orient Harbor Independence Day Fireworks. This year's festivities is brought to you by a new non-profit organization whose mission is to honoe the nation's history and military service members.  Fireworks are planned for 9:15pm.  Theodore Strauel created a GoFundMe page"Orient Harbor July 2, 2017 Fireworks" and so far has raised $4,305 of their $50,000 goal.

 

 

July 3rd, 2017 (Monday)

  • North Sea Fireworks and Carnival.  (Also on 7/1)  This is the 72nd annual event put on by the North Sea Fire Department.  Fireworks are scheduled at 10pm (a bit later than most).

  • Riverhead Independence Day Fireworks - Bring your blankets, beach chairs and picnic baskets to the river front.  Enjoy the music, face painters, jugglers, stilt walkers and of coirse fireworks.  The event will take place 6-9:45p in the Downtown area.
  • Port Jefferson Fourth of July Fireworks (see below for the Parade on the 4th).  The annual fireworks will be on the 3rd at 9:30pm and can be viewed at the Village's East and West Beaches.  But, please note that the show is limited to Village Residents only (Port Jefferson Village ID required) and the area will be closed to non-residents starting at 4pm.  Please note that several roads are closed for parking and afterwards, all traffic will be directed to exit eastbound on Fairway Drive
 
 

July 4th, 2017 (Tuesday)

  • Greenport July 4th Carnival and Fireworks (also on 7/8) - Enjoy Independence Day on the North Fork when the fire department hosts their annual carnival and fireworks extravaganza.  The fun starts at 6pm and it will take place at the Polo Grounds on Moore's Lane.
  • Montauk Fireworks Display - This will be at Umbrella Beach, just west of Montauk Village. and is sponsored by the Montauk Chamber of Commerce.  Get there early to avoid the traffic and get a good spot.  Fireworks are scheduled for 9pm.
  • Asharoken Beach July 4th Fireworks - Fireworks will be launched from a barge on the Long Island Sound and they are scheduled for 9:20pm.  The best spot to watch the show is on the waters or at Crab Meadow Beach.
  • Freestyle Explosion Fireworks Show at the Pennysaver Amphitheater.  The show begins at 5pm and features 16 performers.  Tickets start at $39 and can be purchased on Ticketmaster here.
  • Babylon Fireworks Cruise - Now this sounds awesome.  Enjoy a cruise where you will have an amazing view of the fireworks over the water.  There will be a DJ, beer, wine, soda and cold appetizers.  You can bring a cooler too and there is a cash bar.  You can buy tickets here.
  • Port Jefferson Fourth of July Parade - The annual parade is sponsored by the Port Jefferson Fire Department and starts at 10am.
