Happy Canada Day - 150 years and still going strong

We just got back from a great vacation in Canada, visiting families on both ends of the country.  There's a lot of excitement for the sesquicentennial, or 150th birthday of the country.  Today, July 1st is that day and there will be lots of celebrations all weekend.

We did take advantage of discounts on many things, thanks to this big event.  Notably the West Coast Railway Heritage Park in Squamish BC. (more on that later).

I can still remember the big whoop-de-do when it was the 100th birthday back in 1967... hard to believe it's now 50 years later!

So this weekend, raise your glass of beer to our neighbors to the north and say "Cheers, eh!"
