"Good to Great" or just plain old "Trust"

By

I read the book "Good to Great", by Jim Collins.  He states in his book, "A critical piece of any relationship is bringing your authentic best to every encounter."  In addition, Collins says, "While you can't control the outcome ... you can control the integrity of your input and effort."  So make sure your input is packed with honest and open communication, and put away any efforts of making a "good impression" or any little cover-ups of the real  truth.  This is just plain old "Trust", I say.  Trust is a must for your relationships will stand the test of time.  Trust is the foundation of every strong relationship.

So how do you build trust?

Lu, you make a great point about authenticity and integrity - they are related. People may think that they need to create a business persona that masks who they really are, but this is a type of lying that gets harder and harder to maintain. Steve

Steve you are right, many people though, get away with it.  It takes years of practice to maintain the outer self appearance.  And because people judge a book by its cover much more easily.  We have to make sure the inside is what is being reflected on the outside.  Not the other way around.  Thanks for always commenting on my blogs.  You are a great resource for me.  God bless you today. LU, I have not read that book.  I will have to add it to my list.  I think trust is something you have to build over time.  As you get to know someone you build a rapport and they realize that this is someone they can trust.
