About seven or eight months ago I was interviewed on Superagentlive.com about my successful first year in real estate. I started my career in real estate in November of 2015. It seems like a lifetime ago. Before that I was selling pre paid cell phones in a retail chain store. I was discouraged, disappointed, and at the brink of giving up on ever being successful in business. When I was 8 years old, I would dream about running a successful business. I had a pretend office, desk, supplies, and a burning desire to make it big and leave the South Bronx for good. But I thought that dream had long died among the gunshots, noise, sirens, illness, screams, and despair of my reality. The youngest of 7 living in dire poverty. How dare I dream.
Well fast forward and here I am in present day coming off the high of a successful first year in real estate where I listed over 60 homes, only by making cold calls to FSBO's, expires, just listed, just sold. That's right, I did the unbelievable-worked with buyer's and seller's by picking up the phone on day one and saying "Hello, I can help you with your real estate needs".
Well, where do I go from here? Obviously, I intend to increase my sales.. As I continue to grow, I want to also teach others and share my story as a form of motivation and encouragement.
I'm in the midst of writing my first best selling non fiction book about how I listed over 60 homes my first year. I plan on sharing my stories of growing up in the South Bronx, NY, my relocation to Philadelphia, how I was sick for 10 years of my life, and definitely how I was able to reach my goals in the first year and how you can too. It will be a good read.
The interview on Superagentlive.com changed my perspective. I get calls, emails, text, instant messages, from new agents all over the country asking for my advice. I try with my limited amount of time, to talk with and assist as many new agents as I can. But there isn't enough time to help everyone, while I am still in the process of growing my business. However, my book will be the next manual for new agents. It will be the next "The Millionaire Real Estate Agent" by Gary Keller
