Reading through some 4th of July commenting on social media I was disappointed to think some people were disheartened with America, their country. I have always thought differences with civil debate were good for our country, but people veering into hate of others, it serves no one. It reminded me in life that we all should figure out how to make a difference.
Make a difference in life, love, relationships, the environment, your workplace, your home, to voices that can't defend themselves, with health, with helping others, with being your best, with just being courteous. And my sharpened pencil idea that stuck with me with reading people who seemed to not even take the time to unconditionally LISTEN to others without essentially shouting them down, was we all NEED TO CARE MORE. Caring really is not that hard to do in every instance I mentioned. It is just a little thing. A little more conscious energy on your part.
Think if you cared to say thank you. To open a door for someone. If someone had a differing opinion to say isn't that interesting? Non judgmental. Understanding. Caring enough with the sick and disabled or the downtrodden or the hopeless or forlorn to give them aid and comfort. A helping hand. Again, not that hard, just another thought direction, a boost of a positive feeling towards another. Work on CARING MORE now that we have celebrated another year of our country's freedom. I guarantee it will make all the difference in the world toward whatever or whomever you direct it at. YOU will become that differencemaker!!
