Are you waiting for housing prices in Asheville to slow down this year?   Well, it seems you may be waiting for a while longer.  Single-family home sales from April to June (Q2) continued to reach record highs, with high demand from buyers, for a limited supply of homes on the market.

There were 501 homes sold in Asheville during the 2nd quarter, as the median sales price continued to rise to a record-breaking $319,000!   This represents nearly a 14% increase over sales the same time last year.

This chart shows the sales price of single-family homes in Asheville, NC since 2015, with steady increases over time.  Although interest rates are still at historical lows, mortgage rates increased last week, in response to actions of the Federal Reserve.  Will rising mortgage rates finally slow down home prices? Only time will tell...

As of today, there are 546 single-family homes for sale in Asheville, with a median asking price of $467,500.
