Here are a few ways to get bad odors out and good ones in:
1. Clean your garbage disposal. Put 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1 cup of white vinegar down the disposal. Follow with 1 cup of ice cubes. Run the disposal for a bit. Lastly, add two lemon halves and turn on the disposal for a great fresh scent.
2. Make a stove simmer. In large pot of water of boiling water, add slices of citrus, (like lemon and orange) and spices and herbs (like cinnamon, cloves, lavender or mint). Simmer and the smell will fill your home.
3. Turn on the oven. Nothing makes a home smell better than some freshly baking treats like cinnamon rolls or banana bread.
4. Buy indoor plants. Indoor plants clean your air and many even offer lovely fragrances. Ask your local nursery for suggestions for the best plants for different areas of your home, depending on lighting, pets or small children.
5. Use dryer sheets (outside the laundry room). Place dryer sheets in places like cabinets, closets and drawers. They will be unseen but you will always notice their fresh scent.
6. Vamp up your air vents. A car deodorizer clipped on to your home’s air vents will send wonderful smells throughout your home as the air blows through.
