Baby Boomers Rightsizing to Tiny Homes

Baby boomers and people of all ages are downsizing to tiny homes. In a recent study, Merrill Lynch found that 64% of 50+ downsizers did so to lower their housing costs, 44% to reduce home maintenance, 18% because the kids left the building and 16% to take money out of their home's equity. They are all reasons people downsize their home because it just no longer suits the lifestyle they want to live. Our tiny home community, The Shire at Mountaintown, does all of these and more. You lower your mortgage costs, reduce your maintenance costs, get rid of the unwanted rooms, save on utilities, and can put a bunch of money in your pocket to boot. We find that many folks are using the money saved to travel more and check off all those bucket list ideas they have had for years. Many have plugged into DreamTrips to get first class vacations at reduced member pricing.

In that program you can even dine you way to FREE vacations.

Different strokes....you would have to like someone an awful lot not to go bananas in a tiny house....our cats need more room !

Was trying to check footage and the link did not pull up or maybe it did and was too tiny. How small is small? Many cities won't allow tiny homes. It certainly is a niche market. Good luck.

Millions of baby boomers have homes with equity and will be considering a move to a new home that meets their changing needs. This segment should be part of almost every agent's marketing strategy.
