Last week a friend of mine from the Napa Valley came in, she is an expert in wines. We went to a Argentinean restaurant that we both knew and liked. We tasted several Malbecs they were very nice. This Saturday I made a Eggplant Parmigiana and then we had a wonderful salad. I had Malbec on the brain from going out with Joann. So, I looked in our cave and pulled out The Tapiz Malbec Black Tears 2011. It was an excellent choice. It paired perfectly with the Eggplant, the wine has a strong structure with very deep dark inky color, the aromas on the nose are deep dark berries with hints of viloet. The taste on the mouth are deep dark blackberries, with the tiniest hint of smokiness. It has a very long finish and is excellent. It is pricey but we are still celebrating our anniversary month.
