and of course....

Camp Verde

Now most of you who think of "Cornfest" would probably think that Nebraska or Iowa might be mentioned. But no, this is the 26 year celebration of Cornfest in the town of Camp Verde ARIZONA! Yes! That is right! Camp Verde has a history of corn farming. Hauser and Hauser sells corn by the ear at their roadside stand. I have had really good sweet corn from outside the city of Chicago in the farmland.  This Camp Verde corn is as good as the best in the country. Oh! By the way, I was born in Nebraska, home of the Cornhuskers! I know sweet white corn.

Hi Sheri

Well I learned something new! Sounds like a fun time. I am a big fan of corn - I especially like it roasted on the grill in the husks!

Good morning Sheri.  I was under the impression corn is one of the basic food groups.  There are so many basic food groups don't you think?

Hi Sheri - You're right - I don't normally associate corn with Arizona. But Loveland CO has a corn fest, and the only real corn grown around here is field corn, so they must buy it at Safeway : )

Have a great weekend!
