A couple of weeks ago "The Wall That Heals" tour arrived in our area. A friend and I attended the exhibit. We each found our friends, whose memory is etched in the Wall. The exhibit was emotionally moving and did offer a form of healing & release for those who visited.
BUT, that’s not why I’m writing today. Today I’m here to share one man’s vision for a Real Estate project in Lee, NH that will serve homeless veterans.
I’ve inserted this video & link so you can listen to and see Pete Macdonald’s story and vision.
In short, Pete is a veteran and was homeless after he returned from Vietnam, with no memory of life previous to Vietnam due to serious head trauma. From the efforts of a veteran, who rescued Pete & got him cared for at the VA, Pete has regained his life.
From the efforts of a veteran who rescued Pete & got him care at the VA Pete has regained his life and a vision. One veteran's intervention has changed, not only Pete's life but the lives of other homeless veterans.
Pete and his family had many challenges with the community of Lee. You see, homeless veterans are largely viewed in a negative manner and Lee, NH had that challenge to overcome. Eventually, they did and are now partnering with Pete and his family. The project which will consist of 12 Tiny Homes, a non-denominational Chapel & walking trails is located on 11 waterfront acres.
