MARKETING & INNOVATION
"Business has only two functions - marketing & innovation" --- Milan Kundera
As in any business, whether it's automotive or Real Estate, we manage the business but we have no control over the market, other people, or what drives the economy. To achieve long-term performance that is unmatched by competitors, we must adapt to market changes and stay innovative. A business owner simply can't run out of gas and expect the consumer to be loyal. That is the challenge to all business owners. In order to succeed, the business owner has to accelerate, and embrace technology using creativity more effectively to survive in a competitive environment. Plus, it takes a lot of fluids and elbow grease to run a business like a "well oiled machine".
WHAT FUELS YOUR PASSION?
"Adaptability and constant innovation is key to the survival of any company operating in a competitive market." --- Shiv Nadar
In "Built To Last," authors Jerry Porras' and Jim Collins' discuss "preserving a core ideology." With 170 days or a less than a half a year left in 2017, now is the time to analyze one's "BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goals)!" When it comes to calendar days, time is limited. Don't let the interference of other people's noise, excuses, or procrastinations come between you and your end goal. As soon as I saw this old truck in Forney, Texas, (my guess is it was built in the early 1940's) I had to ask myself, will I still have the fuel I need to achieve my goals if I keep allowing distractions to interrupt the operation of my business? Just as a truck or automobile needs gas to keep running to high performance, so too must I fuel my passion!
