Hot August Nights kicks off in Virginia City on Friday, August 4th with a craft fair, show-n-shines, poker walk and more. However, things REALLY heat up when they hit the Reno/Sparks area on August 8th. That's when the Ultimate Classic Car Competition comes to the Nugget. There'll be hula hoop contests, pie eating contest, jelly donut eating contest, craft fairs, classic car cruises, drag races and too many more events to list here between Tuesday, August 8th and Sunday, August 13th. Brand new this year for the Reno Hot August Nights 2017 is the Vintage Trailer Revival. Every day from August 8th to the 13th, Rancho San Rafael Park fills up with lovingly restored vintage camping trailers. Currently, they expect as many as 150 trailers for the revival. You won't want to miss seeing these amazing classics up close.
Another popular event during Reno Hot August Nights 2017 is the Collector Car Auction presented by the Motorsport Auction Group. This will be held on August 10th, 11th and 12th. The auction features everything from American muscle cars and street rods to exotic and special interest vehicles. A new automobile hits the auction block every few minutes during its three days.
Reno Hot August Nights 2017 Musical Lineup
Each night of Reno Hot August Nights 2017 involves different musical guests around various venues. Everyone listed below performs at the venue's outdoor stage. The toughest decision? Which one to watch! So many great musical acts to choose from. It'll be hard to whittle it down to just one a night.
The Grand Sierra Resort offers a tribute to Journey as well as classic favorites Rick Springfield and queen of rock 'n roll herself, Joan Jett. The Peppermill Resort features a free outdoor concert every night with Dusty Miles & the Cryin' Shame as well as Beatles Flashback. The Chromatics and Hot Rod Rebellion hit up the Atlantis Casino Resort. And, if you spend some of Hot August Nights in Sparks, visit Victoria Square for Timeless Wonder (a Stevie Wonder tribute band), Route 66 the Band or Pablo Cruise. Tickets for Reno Hot August Nights 2017
All outdoor concerts at the Grand Sierra Resort and downtown Sparks are offered absolutely free of charge. The same goes for the crafts shows, show-n-shines and viewing any of the special contests. Tickets for the other concerts put on at various casinos are available through the respective casino's box office. You must have a ticket to get in to the collector car auction. They cost $20 per day or $45 for a three day pass. Auto Cross and Drifting and swap meet, drag racing and burnout tickets are $10 each and are available at the gate each day.
