Stop Zillow Controversy and The Three Monkeys

A few years back, Z started calling me, they wanted me to buy a zip code.

They said I would be the exclusive agent. I started looking at Z and found they always have at least 3 agents to a listing.

I asked how much the zip would cost me and the answer was $2400 per month.

It did not take me long to figure out this was not a path to success-for me-but would be great for Z.

We have seen some areas of the country that Associations got together and cut off Z, that would be an effective effort if we saw that take place on a large scale across the country.

I think this law suit, appeals, legal fees, and no insurance carrier behind them, ZIllow is fighting for it's life.  It may just be a matter of time.  

Zillow will be a walk in the park, if Amazon gets in the business! Can't happen you say! Both Forbes and the Wall Street Journal reported that during Prime Day a find an agent section went up on the website. It was taken down after a few hours. Both publications speculated that Amazon may compete with Zillow. They are a real 800 lb. Gorilla

WOW! This guy on Video knows what he's talking about and it should be shared with every MLS from every Association nation-wide as part of our CE and rude awakening! 

I never did buy leads, even when we were in the thick of the mortgage debacle. I simply chose to live in the trenches with those who face foreclosures. Buying leads is a rip off and anyone who has the luxury of spending money on leads should rethink and explore options that benefit charity, or even save the planet, rehabit homes for people in need, adoption, or Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Hannah Williams - I completely agree with you. Like yourself, I saw many new agents, eager to conquer the world, yard by yard, selling Real Estate quit before they could succeed because they fell victim to these scammers and thieves. I thank God I never had the extra money to gamble in the first place. 

Hi Hannah Williams,  I know of some top agents in my area who buy leads from these sites. I never bought into purchasing leads, success is hard work. They will never..ever..ever go away as long as agents are supporting them and buying leads.  

Never, ever have I paid for leads and I have no intention of ever doing that. I have an Internet presence and sometimes I get leads from it. But often times when I try to reach out  to inquiries, they don't respond. Wonder why they bother to contact me if they won't return my calls and respond to my emails. That's certainly a lead I would not have wanted to pay for. No, I'll take building relationships and working by referral any day. Cheaper and much more fun. 

Change is inevitable. Those that embrace it usually come out on top
