Students enjoying campus life by Amariotti licensed under the terms of the CC BY-SA 3.0It's almost that time of year again, parents and their kids (who are not really kids any more) are packing clothes, buying mini fridges and getting ready to move into college dorms. Here in San Diego we are a big university community, with UCSD, SDSU and a few other smaller private colleges, there is no shortage incoming freshman. As these new undergraduates begin to invest in their future it is important for parents as well to look at what is ahead.

It is no secret that sending your kids on to higher education is not a small financial commitment, and while it is a smart investment, you want to be sure you are spending every dollar in the wisest way possible. One of the largest expenses incurred is housing, San Diego may be a beautiful place to live but with low inventory and high demand, rental prices can be horrendous. Paying hundreds of dollars every month for four years can add up, and when you start to do the math it could make more sense to buy. Not only are you ensuring stable reliable housing for your scholor but you are also investing in a market where upward trends are the norm.

To help parents make the most informed decision they can, over the new few weeks I'll be featuring popular condo complexes in the UCSD area to show just how many options are out there. I'll break down the amenities, location, community and much more- and if any of them seem like they could be the perfect home for your student give me a call, I'd love to show you around the neighborhood!

If you just can't wait to learn more about the UCSD area click here to visit my website and get a preview, if you want to really get a head start and see what's available today in the area click here!

This is a very lucrative niche in out UTC/La Jolla residential real estate business.
Although as prices rise we see less parents doing this, it's still a great revenue stream and could pay for their tuition at UCSD when they sell!
