Cheaper to buy than rent in FL

By

A recent study done by GoBanking found that in the Sunshine State it was less expensive to buy than rent (if you have the 20% down payment).

Our average rents according to the study are $1500+ VS $1300+mortgage payment for buying. That equates to a savings of over $2000 annually if you purchase a home instead of renting.

My advice to buyers, especially first timers is to get off the fence and purchase now. By purchasing a home now you will also take advantage of the low mortgage interest rates. It's GO TIME PEOPLE!

Renting has never seemed like a good option for me and I am always surprised with how many people do so when they are able to buy.

That is true of my area too, Marco. Buyers can buy a beautiful home for some of those rent payments.

Hi Marco --- the percentage of home ownership in our area is quite low versus most of the country.   Finding 3.5% for a down payment can be a struggle for many --it's not an easy place to be a first-time homebuyer but it remains a popular place to live.

First off, that picture posted with this blog is a testament to special living.  What an amazing scene that is, Marco.

For renters living in areas where rent is more expensive than house payments, they should ask themselves why they are still renting.
