Gainesville has been seeing a lot of new growth in the past couple of years. With the huge Celebration Point addition, we now have a Total Wine, Five Below, Aldi, New Olive Garden and so many more things. A brand new Regal Cinemas is slated to open in late 2017 and the land next to the old Regal Cinema is leveled and ready for the new super Whole Foods. Many new restaurants will be opening this year as well.
Dave's New York Deli will be opening their second location on the corner of Archer and Tower in the Park Lane Apartment complex.
MidiCi pizza, serving Neopolitan pizza, will open in Celebration Point.
Apoke Sushi serving bowls, burritos and salads will open at 1404 W University Avenue.
Jimmy Hula's, known for fish tacos and burgers, is opening in Butler Plaza North.
Taziki's featuring gyros, salads and soups opened in April in Butler Plaza North.
BTW (Burgers, Tacos, Wings) is opening at 1404 W University across from UF.
Menchie's Frozen Yogurt will be opening in Butler Plaza North.
Thank you to Front Street Commercial for sharing these new eateries in your newsletter. I'm most excited for the MidiCi pizza. It seems they have some quality sourced ingredients. I would love to see some organic restaurants open in Gainesville. There is a huge food culture in Asheville, NC featuring organic farm-to-table and locally sourced ingredients and it seems that is the norm for the independently owned restaurants there. There are many gluten free options as well. Gainesville seems to be encouraging growth and opportunities and I hope it can take a page from Asheville's play book and bring in more quality establishments with inspired and interesting menus.
