Morning Pickins

By
Real Estate Agent with GreatWest Realty DRE# 00827565

To say I have enjoyed my summer garden this year would be an understatement.  The rains late in the spring season, followed by hot temperatures the last couple of months have produced more vegetables than I know what to do with.

I continue to be amazed at how I pick all squash I see one morning, but when I return the next day there will be the occasional squash that has hidden itself well and grown into a giant in comparison to the others. That was the case this day.  I've also enjoyed turning these little beauties into still-life photos.

The picture above was taken this morning.  The photo below was taken in late June.

I take pictures for the purpose of remembering fond times.  I do not impose copyright restrictions on this photo, so you may feel free to use, or distribute as you wish.  However, should you need a Real Estate Professional in the Greater Sacramento area, I hope that you will contact me by email or by visiting my website www.myrljeffcoat.com - Thank You!

What a beautiful picture, i just throw my veggies in the sink and get to washing. We had such a late spring, everything is behind. I have only been picking squash a week now, the cukes are almost ready, peppers are good, my green beans are amazing. I picked a carrot today while weeding and they are almost 2 inches. Gardening gives me a good break from the stress Myrl Jeffcoat

That's quite the spread Myrl.  Your veggies have turned out wonderfully. We've been growing tomatoes & cucumbers but they don't look nearly pretty as yours

Beautiful!  The food and the still lifes look so wonderful.  I have to admire all those little tomatoes, what a great variety.  It's so much fun to do the picking, and like you say, finding the surprises lurking under the leaves!

These photos are gorgeous works of art, Myrl. Is that a new medium? Arranging vegetables in such a creative way and taking pictures of them? If not, it surely should be. You have a real gift for this.

We've got a ton of vegetables in our gardens on the other side of town, too. Even though we planted only ONE plant of each kind, you're right about the squash going wild. Our neighbors in Land Park are keeping the blinds closed, but I spy their beady little eyeballs peeking through the slats, waiting to see if I'm sneaking up on their porch with a bag of squash.
