The annual super hero 5K race will be held August 12, 2017. This race benefits the Colonial Road Runners Scholarship Fund. The Child Development Resources serves young children and their families. Their goal is to help ensure that all children in the Williamsburg area reach their full potential. According to Mary Jean Hurst, the director of development for CDR this year's goal is to raise $50,000 for local children. The CDR helps children with developmental delays as well as children who are at risk for delay.
It will take place at The Vineyards at The Jockey's Neck Clubhouse located at 2659 Jockey's Neck Trail. The Vineyards is a lovely subdivision near Colonial Williamsburg in James City County.

The Vineyards subdivision is located near the Williamsburg Winery and is appropriately named for the grape vines that grow near the winery.
Super hero costumes are encouraged and there will be a costume contest as part of the festivities. Participants and guests will be treated to food, music, awards as well as race day fun and games for children.
The fun run begins at 8:00 and the Super Hero 5k Race begins at 8:30. Registration is available through August 11th and the cost is $20.00 for the fun run and $35.00 for the race.
Registration is available at 5k.CDR.org.
