The Dewitt Wallace Decorative
Arts Museum is located at 325 Francis Street just across the street from Merchant Square in Colonial Williamsburg.
The museum is currently undergoing a forty million dollar renovation.
This summer for the first time, the museum will be hosting a murder mystery called "Death of a Docent". The mystery plays every Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 pm from now until September 22nd.
The theme of this play is the death of a dreadful docent. It is a new case that introduces people to Bart Belcher, a museum volunteer and donor who seems to be hated by everyone. It follows that if the docent is hated by everyone, that gives everyone a motive to kill him.
Members of the audience join in to help solve the fictitious crimes throughout the play. Those who attend will be able to see a crime scene and interview experts as well as suspects. They will also collaborate with special investigators and explore the museum to find clues. Those who attend the mystery must be at least ten years old. Museum admission is required in order to attend the production.
Tickets are priced at $12.99 for adults and $6.49 for children ages ten to twelve.
