Carlsbad’s outdoor 1-day fairs are legendary, and popular with residents and visitors as well as the vendors. And they are a big part of the Carlsbad Village lifestyle.

Plan your calendar now - the 19th Annual Carlsbad Art in the Village 2017 is coming up in less than 2 weeks, Sunday August 13th, in downtown Carlsbad Village along State Street and Grand Avenue.

If you are looking for something fun to do in our beautiful summer weather, especially if you have an interest in arts and crafts, Carlsbad Art in the Village, traditionally on the 2nd Sunday of August, might be just perfect, showcasing works of art from more than 125 local and regional arts and crafts artists.

Whatever your artistic preferences, you can’t help but be very impressed with the variety of arts and crafts at this fair – fine art, classical and contemporary sculpture, clothing, ceramics and pottery, jewelry, paintings (watercolors, oils, acrylics, mixed media), wood working, furniture, and accessories. What a visual feast for your eyes, and perhaps fun for your wallet, too!

Carlsbad Art in the Village is free, of course, and runs from 9 am until 5 pm. In addition to all the works of art there will be artist demos and instruction throughout the day. Given the time of year we can expect pretty good weather for being outdoors and near the beach. Art in the Village fairs are always crowded so expect some parking challenges in town, and plan your time accordingly. Good thing the parking is free! And the Coaster is nearby if you prefer public transportation or are coming from a distance.

And should you tire of the Art in the Village fair itself, there’s lots to see and do, and places to dine in the heart of Carlsbad Village either during or after the event. And of course our beautiful Carlsbad beaches beckon from just a couple blocks away.
