So I spent 12 days this summer at Penland School of Crafts, working on my glassblowing skills. It was a lot of fun and the mountain location was the perfect escape from July in the lowlands of North Carolina.
There were 14 of us students. On the first day we all introduced ourselves and told where we were from. People came from all over -- Illinois, Alabama, New England, Georgia, and several from North Carolina like myself.
When one of my fellow glassblowers said, "Clarksville, Tennessee," I perked right up.
"I have a friend in Clarksville, Tennessee," I said. "A real estate agent."
"What's her name?"
"Debbie .. Debbie .." I floundered for a second but then I remembered. "She's the REAL Debbie Reynolds. Her name is Debbie Reynolds."
My new glassblowing friend had not heard of The the Real Debbie Reynolds, but who knows? Someday when she needs an agent, that slogan may pop into her head the way it popped into mine.
I need a slogan like that .. something really Goode ..
