The Move - All Experience Is An Arch

An Arch

"All experience is an arch wherethrough gleams that

untravelled world whose margin fades for ever and for ever

when I move." --- Alfred Lord Tennyson

Move - an experience that has the potential to change your life. It requires:

  • Motivation
  • Opportunity
  • Vision
  • Energy

Organization - preparation to invest in your time, purging, getting financial records and finances in order, deciding who, what, when, where, and how do I organize efficiently?

  • Orchestrate
  • Regroup
  • Give Away
  • Accept
  • Negotiate
  • Initiate
  • Zoom in
  • Action
  • Toss
  • Ignore
  • Outflow
  • Nitpick

Vision - letting go of the past, looking at the present, living forward to what's next! Talk about it. See it. Feel it. Smell it. Dream it.

  • Verbalize
  • Itemize
  • Sensationalize
  • Improvise
  • Odorize
  • Normalize

Energy - the fuel it takes to open up new doors, arches, and opportunities.

  • Excitement
  • Necessity
  • Enjoyment
  • Renewal
  • Glowing
  • Yearning

Making the decision to move or knowing you have to move is a journey. Make it an adventure "wherethrough gleams that untravelled world." Reduce the need to cling to the past that can never be relived, recycled, or remembered exactly the way things were and can never be relived. Every adventure is new.

A move opens up more than just the front door, it opens up the doors of opportunities even you don't know is in store for you. Be bendable, flexible, open-minded, and not so rigid. Accept advice from a professional Real Estate Agent - shut off your computer. Explore new opportunities and be willing to listen to your lender and what your agent has to say, but most of all listen to your heart.

Lottie Kendall - I believe there are many seniors who would move if they had the support of their family members. Unfortunately for some, the family knows where to go for help when they need it from their parents or the elderly but when it is seniors time, the family is too busy making up excuses and have no desire or the time to help them move. Therein lies the big disconnect. Having intervention from the right sources is a gift that all to few receive at times in their life when needed most. Also, it takes many hands to help them when they move.

Sharon Tara - Thank you for what you wrote in the comment section. It takes a lot of brain power for me to build the words I want to convey that has meaning. Just the fact that someone like you and a handful or more appreciate and recognize my talent is fulfilling.

I hope you and your husband compromise and find what you're looking for. Cheers to future happiness in your new nest!

Myrl Jeffcoat - Sometimes you just have to sit and listen. When the heart speaks, listen. There are just too many distractions that rob us of the time we need to just contemplate our own plans.

Also, there comes a time when you have to take first position and let others figure things out for themselves. Unselfish people find it very difficult.

George Souto - As I mentioned earlier in response to comments, it takes a lot of brain work for me to compose words that have meaningful content and can be of value to others. Wrapping it all up in the final paragraph is culmination of the message I'm trying to convey.

Your comments are sincere. I always know that and I appreciate it too.

Dick Greenberg - Living through the alphabet soup is no easy task. The longer you wait the thicker the mess, the harder to move and sort things out. What you did was the equivalent of a 30 year old man who just reached the summit.

Thank you for letting me know, in so few words my writing resonated with you.

Congratulations on your achievement.

Moving is, indeed, a major life challenge, sometimes with surprises, always with lots of emotions. Understanding that, and being empathetic, helps us to more effective without clients making a move. As of course having your own personal experience moving helps immensely!

Enjoy your weekend!

Good afternoon Patricia Feager ,

I see you have another feature in Carol Williams Saturday Second change series and its an excellent read just like all of your posts. Moving is a challenge and my son and family are so excited over their move. They are embracing this opportunity and so excited..it warms my heart to see them so happy with their choice and renovations. They will be there for some time as their family grows and goes off to college. #homesweethome

Moving is a huge life change, one that can be extremely exciting. If downsizing, it can be freeing to get rid of "stuff" and if upsizing, energizing to think about how to fill the new space.

That is a beautiful photo!
