Million Dollar Listing star, celebrity realtor and investor had a great lesson to share with a small group of us recently in
The first step back begins with a total commitment!
Josh had been on top of the world as a Realtor and was in a slump trying to get his mojo back. Got a call from a lady who wanted to find a small place to rent and needed an agent to show her properties. The challenge he faced was would this be worth his time instead of focusing on the "million dollar listings" in Beverly Hills. Reluctantly, he agrees to work with her as long as he can find her a place in two days so he can get back to his "primary" business. This two day project extends into two MONTHS and Josh finally gets her settled in her rental... upside down on his return on investment and time.
On their final walk through, the client calls her dad to let him know about her new place and her very patient agent Josh. Soon the phone is transferred to Josh, dad then hands his phone to his boss who is interested to sell his 12 million dollar Newport Beach condo. That listing generates 3 more listings.
Within 6 months, 40 million dollars of California real estate is sold by Josh Altman originated by taking on a rental that couldn't cover his car payment.
Lesson: Opportunities surround us. Prejudging people on what they can do for us is a mistake. Give, give, and then give some more!
