Oh, the stories this house could tell if walls could talk. There's not much left of the old homeplace; the siding and tin roof have seen better days.
This house has been a landmark for many years along Highway 471 in Brandon. I haven't researched the property to see who owns it. My guess is that it's either tied up in a family estate or someone is patiently waiting for expansion of the highway.
I stopped my car on the side of the road to take the photo. While sitting there, one of Brandon's finest pulled up behind me to make sure I didn't need assistance. I flagged him on by and thanked him for stopping.
Thanks to the Brandon Police Department and ALL our men in blue for keeping us safe!
Hi Pat oh if walls could talk we would hear a lot of stories. I don't see old houses like this in Phoenix but when I live in CO I did from time to time.
That is quite a place, and you can just imagine the many lives that have come and gone here. We see properties like this here in California but they tend to be quite a ways inland, and few and far between.

That is an old home and shows nobody has been around in a very long time. I sometimes think that the families that own these have so much money they just never get around to doing something with them.
It is just so sad to see houses like this one. We do not have too many of them anymore, usually local investors are very proactive trying to reach the owner.

That is just one of the coolest things about old houses like that! I, too, just love to imagine the lives of the people that lived there at one time...
