- Your Lakes Region NH Weather Report, Aug. 18, 2017 -

68℉ Partly Cloudy  64

GREETINGS FROM THE BEAUTIFUL LAKES REGION OF NEW HAMPSHIRE - Here's your weather summary for Friday, Aug. 18, 2017 -

Rain, rain, go away...

I think it's here to stay, today, however.  If gloomy wet weather hasn't yet reached you this morning, stay tuned, it's in the air with a 70% chance of falling on your parade.  Without the sun to warm things up, the high daytime temperature in the Lakes Region is not expected to reach 70°

Wind will be out of the northeast at 6 MPH.  Forecasters say that an accumulation of up to one-half inch is possible in the region.

Don't let the day dampen your enthusiasm, however.  There's always something to explore in the beautiful Lakes Region. If we can't play outdoors, today, let's  look indoors for a venue to brighten our spirits.

I'm thinking candy, ice cream and gifts.  I'm thinking world famous Kellerhaus, the ice cream- and candy-making company that's been churning out store-made, confectionary comforts since 1906.

Located at 259 Endicott St., N. (U.S. Rte. 3), just a few short miles south of Meredith in the Weirs Beach District of Laconia, NH., Kellerhaus offers delectable handmade chocolates and sugar candies by the pound. Its ice cream Sundae smorgasbord is not easily Kellerhaus Ice Cream Sundaeforgotten.

Can't make it to Kellerhaus until the weekend?  No problem. Get there early, Saturday or Sunday to partake in its its famous waffle breakfast, served from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Kellerhaus offers much more than than sugary comfort food.  We think you'll spend a good deal of time there browsing its extensive collection of gifts, clothing and souveniers.

Kellerhaus opens for business at 10 a.m., during the week. For more information click here or call 603 366-4466.

Hopefully, the weather will turn for the better by the time you're ready to leave, but it's unlikely, forecasters report, as the probability of sustained showers increases to 80% as we head into the the evening hours.  The overnight low is expected to drop to 64° with a sustained light wind of 5 MPH from the east.

Continue to expect cooler than normal tempertures for at least another week. Ninety degree daytime temperatures are anticipated in the final week of August.

Sunrise/Sunset (Laconia): 5:54 a.m. - 7:44 p.m.
