Flips are hard work
It seems every TV show on earth today shows flipping as some easy way to make a quick buck. The show happy couples tearing down walls, installing tile, painting and ending each show with a gorgeous new home.
Believe nothing of what you hear and half of what you see..
I actually believe that advice is from the song "heard it through the grapevine" however I could be wrong. I know it from a friends Dad, who used to give us that advice often. The fact is, the editing on these shows is amazing and they are designed to keep your interest focused on flipping. If they showed the truth they would drop in market share after the first episode. Even when the have "trouble" on the shows they always have some cute way of resolving it.
It is real money on the line.
Flipping a home is like playing the stock market. Yes, you can do on-line trading and you will hear the stories over and over of people making millions in a day. Much like Vegas stories, it always amazes me that no one ever looses. The fact is when it comes to a flip, one wrong move can be super costly and blow your budget.
Over the next few weeks
I will be writing a series on flipping homes. The truth about flipping homes. I have been flipping for over 15 years, I have been a contractor for over 20 years. I consider myself an expert in the field and I plan to deliver some hard world, real advice. Each article I will throw in some useful tips along with stories of my many flips.
