It's always sad as we approach the end of August, and the weather starts to get a little cooler. Why can't summer just last forever? Make the most of the summer that's still left, and do some things outdoors. We've compiled a list below of the top things to do; check it out!

1. Visit the Farmer's Markets

We can't stress enough how awesome the Farmer's Markets of Jersey City and Hoboken are. And, they are open until December! The best part - the produce is consistently changing as different items enter their peak harvest. Apple season is also upon us, so now's a great time to head to the Farmer's Markets for some fresh, local apples among various other goods! View our guide to the Markets here»

2. Take a self-guided tour of the Jersey City Building Art

You've definitely noticed the building art in Jersey City, but have you ever stopped to really look at it? Initiated in 2013 and funded by a Clean Communities Grant, the Jersey City Mural Arts Program links mural artists with property owners city-wide as part of an innovative beautification program that reduces graffiti, engages local residents and is transforming Jersey City into an outdoor art gallery. 3. Have Dinner on a Rooftop

4. Rent Citi Bikes

Citi Bikes are everywhere in Jersey City; there are now more than 50 stations in Jersey City alone! And, it's easy and affordable to utilize - $12 for the entire day (at 30 minute increments), and you can pick up and drop off at any Citi Bike location - even if it's not in Jersey City (ie. Manhattan, Brooklyn, etc.). View a map of the Citi Bike stations here»

5. Go to an Open-Air Beer Garden

Lutz Biergarten opened early this year in Jersey City, and there is Pier13 in Hoboken. Both are waterfront offering incredible views of Manhattan and have great drink selections and food vendors. Happy Hour at Lutz is Monday through Thursday, 4pm-6pm, and offers $5 Draft Beers, $5 Well Cocktails, $6 Draft Wine, $7 Frozen Margaritas. Pier13 has a bunch of daily drink specials, like $13 buckets of Sangria on Thursdays.

We hope you enjoy the rest of summer in Hudson County!
