William Ramsay

Managing Real Estate Broker with Fathom Realty PB00068179

William Ramsay was born in Glasgow back in 1868 to John, sorry I can’t find wo his mother was. Anyway, the family moved to Australia when he was 10, settling in Melbourne. His father became a successful real estate broker. After school, he set up a real estate firm with his father.

On a trip to New Zealand he met and married Annie in 1901. When the couple returned to Australia they settled in Carlton where he went in partnership with Hamilton McKellar producing various products (more on that in a moment).

He died of cancer in 1914. Now for the rest of the story. In 1906, William and Annie began producing a polish that is still being produced to this day. I’ve used it, in fact I’m looking at that product right now. For you see the pair produced a shoe polish and the name of that polish “Kiwi”. Only now you know the rest of the story.

Until tomorrow keep those pearly whites shinning, a smile goes a long way and is highly contagious.

It's been a long time since I have used or even thought of shoe polish.  Brings back memories when I thought my dad's closet was all shoes - especially on Saturday mornings when one of our duties was to polish them all up nice and shiny.
