Don't you just love a headline that catches your attention?

You're already thinking crazy thoughts...I can hear them from here!

  • Lenders are starting to do crazy things again?
  • Interest rates going up and Buyers can't qualify for as much?
  • A particular lender has not followed up and a deal is looking bad?

Well, it's actually good news!

SunTrust Mortgage conducted an online- survey among 412 U.S. adults ages 18-36, among whom 248 purchased their first home and 135 have never purchased a home.

33% of Millennial-aged Americans said better space or a yard for a dog influenced their decision to buy a home!

Now before you think "How CRAZY is THAT?" know that 66% of them wanted more living space.

Funny, you talk about rates going up and I just read a blog last week that rates were at the lowest they have been in a while.

William Feela I didn't talk about rates going up...just a potential "thought" that a reader could have when they read the headline. Indeed rates are still incredibly low...and this is the time to buy. Now to just find the place!

It's not just dogs either.  I see so many people attached to their pets.  And I'm working with a buyer now who is having a hard time finding a rental that will take his cats, so off we go to buy.

Thom very clever post!  Love it!  Most of our clients have pets and we always keep them in mind for sure.  Just sold a home yesterday and while it at a Doggie door it wasn't big enough for their 110 'pup'!! Simple enough fix!!

I was first licensed as a Realtor in 1981.  Interest rates were 18 1/2%, the historical high for the nation.  The low rates of recent years have been a gift.  They can't last forever.

Myrl Jeffcoat ...the subject was about millennials buying homes because of dogs, not interest rates?
