- Your Lakes Region NH Weather Report, Sept. 1, 2017 -

Enjoy Labor Day in the Lakes Region

63℉ Partly Cloudy Rain 41℉

GOOD MORNING FROM THE BEAUTIFUL LAKES REGION OF NEW HAMPSHIRE - Here's your weather summary for Friday, Sept.1, 2017 -

Brrrrh.  Chili today, no hot tamale. We're giving thanks today and tomorrow for sunshine because it's gonna be downright cool for sure, with the temperature this afternoon struggling to climb to a mere 63°.  Overnight it's getting down to around 40°, just a little too cold for comfort.

Expect a little more warmth in your day tomorrow under sunny skies and a possible high reaching 70° .  Overnight Saturday, however, the temperature will slide to 49° and not get higher than 60° for the day as we move into Sunday with a 98% chance of day-long rain, tapering to on-and-off rain and drizzle in the evening under mostly cloudy nighttime skies.

Winds both days will be out of the north, northwest, ranging from 5-14 MPH and gusting from 14-22 MPH.  Winds will become light and variable both tonight and tomorrow evening.

The extended forecast calls for a return of warmer weather Monday and Tuesday with lots of sunshine both days and highs ranging from 76-81°. The evenings will be cool but pleasant with overnight in the low- to mid-50's.

Monday should be ideal for walking the PGA Tournament Players Championship golf course in Norton, MA, scene of the final round of golf's third leg of the FedEx Cup championship.  We have our tickets and lots of cash on hand to buy shirts, hats and $5 hotdogs.   Maybe we'll see some of you there.

However you choose to spend your Monday, please consciously pay tribute in some small personal way to American workers, people past and present like you and me who have contributed to the strength, prosperity and well being of our nation.  Labor Day is the day set aside on the first Monday of September to recognize, acknowledge and embrace the collective value of our labor.  We shouldn't have to work at it.

Sunrise/Sunset today (Laconia): 6:10 a.m. - 7:21 p.m.

Sunshine makes it bearable, I think, Barbara Todaro.  Sunday will be the day to stay in bed longer and read.  Gloomy.  I will be in your neck of the woods on Monday.  Headed to Norton for the final round of the PGA FedEx Cup third leg.  I'm leaving NH around 4:45 a.m. to get to the XFinity Ctr by 7:30.  I'm really looking forward to those $5.99 hot dogs.
